1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how FutureReady Co LLC ("FutureReady Co," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, stores, and protects personal information when you use the Adulting Academy mobile application, our related website, and any connected support services (collectively, the "Services").

This Privacy Policy is intended to describe our data practices in plain language. Your use of the Services means you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Services.

Adulting Academy is generally designed for teens and adults, not for children under 13. We address children's data separately in Section 10.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide directly

  • Account information, such as your email address, display name, password credentials, and optional profile details you choose to add.
  • Single sign-on details, such as your name and email address, if you sign in through Apple or Google. We do not receive your password from those providers.
  • Onboarding and personalization responses, such as your age range, interests, goals, and category preferences, when you answer setup questions.
  • User content and progress data, such as lessons started or completed, quiz responses, streak activity, XP, and category selections.
  • Communications, such as support emails, bug reports, feedback, and other messages you send to us.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device and app information, such as device type, operating system, app version, language, time zone, and identifiers reasonably necessary for analytics, authentication, fraud prevention, or crash reporting.
  • Usage data, such as screens viewed, sessions, features used, lessons accessed, interactions with notifications, and other in-app events.
  • Diagnostic and crash data, such as error logs, app performance information, and technical details that help us identify and fix service issues.
  • Subscription and transaction status, such as purchase status, entitlement status, and store-issued transaction identifiers supplied by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat. We do not receive your full payment card number.

2.3 Information we do not intentionally collect

  • We do not intentionally collect Social Security numbers, government-issued identification numbers, or bank account details through the Services.
  • We do not intentionally collect precise GPS location data unless we clearly request it in the future and update this Privacy Policy first.
  • We do not intentionally access your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera unless a feature clearly requires it and you grant device-level permission.

3. How We Use Information

Legal compliance

To comply with applicable law, lawful requests, dispute resolution, tax and accounting obligations, and recordkeeping requirements.

4. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA, UK, and Similar Jurisdictions)

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we generally rely on one or more of the following:

  • Contract: processing needed to provide the Services you request, such as account creation, lesson delivery, progress tracking, and subscription access.
  • Legitimate interests: processing needed to secure, maintain, analyze, and improve the Services, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.
  • Consent: processing based on your permission, such as optional push notifications or any future consent-based advertising or tracking where required.
  • Legal obligation: processing needed to comply with applicable law, lawful requests, tax rules, or similar obligations.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information for money. We share information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

To host the Services, authenticate users, store app data, support analytics, and process crash or diagnostic information.

RevenueCat

To manage subscription status, purchase validation, and entitlements.

Because some of our service providers operate globally, personal information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the country where you live. Where required by law, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms and contractual safeguards for those transfers.

8. Your Rights and Choices

8.1 Account access and updates

You may review and update certain account information through the app settings or by contacting us.

8.2 Account deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information by using any in-app "Delete Account" feature we provide or by contacting support@adultingacademy.app with the subject line "Data Deletion Request." We will process verified deletion requests within the time required by applicable law. Some information may be retained as reasonably necessary for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or financial recordkeeping.

8.3 Notifications and device permissions

You can disable push notifications and adjust device permissions at any time through your device settings. Disabling notifications may reduce reminders and other app prompts but will not prevent core app use.

8.4 Advertising choices

If we use mobile advertising on a free tier, you may be able to limit ad tracking or reset your advertising identifier through your device settings. Where consent is required for personalized advertising or tracking, we will request it before relying on it.

8.5 U.S. state privacy rights

Residents of certain U.S. states, including California, may have privacy rights such as the right to know, access, correct, delete, obtain a copy of certain data, opt out of certain sharing or targeted advertising, and appeal certain decisions, subject to applicable exceptions and verification requirements. We do not sell personal information for money. To exercise applicable rights, contact support@adultingacademy.app.

8.6 EEA, UK, and similar rights

If you are in the EEA, UK, or a similar jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to certain processing, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to maintain your account, provide the Services, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect the Services.

  • Account and profile data: generally retained while your account remains active.
  • Learning progress, streaks, XP, and related app data: generally retained while your account remains active and then deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period after a verified deletion request, unless an exception applies.
  • Support communications and diagnostic records: retained as reasonably necessary to respond to issues, improve the Services, and meet legal or operational needs.
  • Transaction and tax-related records: retained for the period required by applicable accounting, tax, chargeback, or recordkeeping laws.

10. Children's Privacy

Adulting Academy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without legally sufficient authorization. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 in violation of applicable law, we will delete it as required.

Users between 13 and 17 may use the Services only where permitted by applicable law and, where required, with parent or guardian involvement. Parents or legal guardians who believe we collected information from a minor in a way that requires review may contact support@adultingacademy.app.

11. Security

We use safeguards designed to protect personal information, but no system can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date and provide notice as required by law, such as through the app, the website, or email.
